FAQs
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the process of using the power of your own subconscious mind and giving it positive suggestions for the desired result. You will be guided through a trance-like state that helps relax and focus the mind and deeply relax the body. It can help treat conditions or change habits. I will guide you to release limiting beliefs and behaviors learned throughout your life that are no longer serving you, and create a new way of thinking, behaving and achieving your desired goals and dreams,
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind in which the physical body is deeply relaxed and the mind is alert, clear, and focused. It is a normal state in which each of us enter this state throughout the day and especially when we wake up and before bed. Simply driving and spacing out and missing your exit or driving and not realizing you're already there is another form of everyday Hypnosis. Listening to music, being on our phones, watching television and movies ,exercising, day dreaming and reading are other examples of environmental hypnosis.
What does Hypnosis feel like?
Being in hypnosis is different for everybody. The most common feelings include relaxation, heaviness in the body, lightness or floating sensations, extremely aware of noises around you and a sense of calm. Might experience changes in breathing, dryness of the lips and throat and rapid eye movement.
Can anyone be Hypnotized?
Yes! Almost anyone can be Hypnotized if they are of average intelligence and have the ability to focus and listen to the Hypnotherapists voice. All that is required of you is the willingness to be guided into Hypnosis. Some people may be more easily Hypnotized than others. Researchers show that 10% of the population is considered highly Hypnotizable. People who suffer from serious mental disorders including Hallucinations or delusions are the exception and are out of my scope. I suggest you seek a Licensed Psychotherapist or medical doctor to better assist you.
FAQ
Can I get Stuck in Hypnosis or Loose control?
There is no evidence that suggest that anybody can become stuck in Hypnosis.Â
All of Hypnosis is considered Self Hypnosis you can simply come out of the state anytime you choose to by simply opening your eyes or moving around or simply counting yourself out. You will always be aware of everything occurring during the session. You are never under the control of the Hypnotist and you can never be made to do or tell me something that you choose not to. I am here to help you and guide you to achieve the desired goals so I can guarantee you are in a safe space and always in control. Remember Hypnosis is not mind control and is always self-hypnosis meaning you are allowing and giving permission for your positive suggestions. This will simply allow you to have greater control over your mind, thoughts and emotions.
I did not feel Hypnotized; Did it still work?
Being Hypnotized is not a feeling but a mental state that focuses on relaxing and achieving positive results through Hypnosis. Your Subconscious mind is still taking in the positive suggestions even if you feel like you are not being Hypnotized by simply listening to my voice. It may take a few sessions for you to develop the desired "depth". If you are feeling overwhelmed or spaced out already due to your daily life it simply suggests you are in a state of Hypnosis throughout the day. During Hypnosis your mind may drift and you might think of other thoughts which can be normal, especially your first time. When this occurs simply remind yourself to tune back to my voice and that you are there to achieve desired results.
Will I fall asleep?
Hypnotic state makes you enter the state of deep relaxation, you may tend to drift into a sleep like state. Very rarely does that occur and you are always awake and aware even through Hypnosis. If you fall asleep it is still okay and will work, your subconscious mind is still taking in those positive suggestions regardless allowing it to take in the desired outcome.
Is Hypnosis real and safe?
Yes, Hypnosis is real and scientifically validated. Hypnotic suggestions are simply used to alter the sensations and perceptions of the Hypnotic subject. There is no danger to Hypnosis since it is a natural state. Majority of the mental health professionals agree that there are no dangers in using Hypnosis for self improvement. There has been positive research conducted to study Hypnosis and the effects of Hypnosis on the mind and body to be positive.
